Anime: A Japanese style of motion-picture animation, characterized by highly stylized, colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sexuality.
I love anime for its bright colors, over the top characters, pulsing action and edgy fashion. I’m a big fan of the horror/sci-fi/action genres, mainly to see monsters get their buts kicked and dragged back down to their evil lairs. I will however make an exception for Sailor Moon but only because I grew up watching that show, so it was pretty much my introduction to anime. My Favorite anime to date would have to be Death Note. A story centered around a bright young student named Light Yagami, who discovers a notebook (Death Note) dropped on Earth by a death god named Ryuk. Any human whose name is written in the book will die and Light uses this power to rid the world of evil criminals. When criminals start dying at a rapid pace, police recruit legendary detective L to hunt down the killer. Death note is full of action, drama, and suspense; the characters have depth and the battle between L and Light/Kira will keep you glued. They’re both witty and determined to destroy one another, but you’ll have to watch for yourself to find out who wins in the end. Death note has also been made into a live action movie and is popular among Harajuku Cosplayers who love to dress up as Characters from the series.
